Born and raised in Nanaimo, Captain Josh has been fishing the waters of Vancouver Island since he could hold a rod. With a lifelong obsession for fishing and a love for the ocean, Captain Josh brings local knowledge and a friendly attitude to every charter. Captain Josh is fully certified as a Transport Canada Fishing Guide. When he is not on the charter boat, you’ll find him chasing fish from his Zodiac. Whether it helping guests land their first big catch or sharing stories about local lingcod spots, Captain Josh is always ready to make your day on the water memorable.
Captain Andrew Turkstra:
Captain Turk (Andrew Turkstra) has over 15 years of experience fishing and exploring the waters around Vancouver Island. As a Transport Canada certified fishing and tour guide, Captain Turk has a genuine respect for the life and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. His passion for fishing, his love of nature and his friendliness towards his guests make for unforgettable adventures.
“Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed the natural beauty and wildlife found within our forests, rivers, lakes and oceans. Moving from the mainland to Vancouver Island in 2006, I discovered the possibility of sharing my passion. After working for several charter companies on the coast of Ucluelet, I started my own. Within 5 years, we added another vessel to the fleet to fish in both Nanaimo and Ucluelet. However, when new fishing regulations were implemented in the spring of 2019, I knew the time had come to reimagine the business. Today, with 13 years of experience, I look forward to helping others experience the wonder of our natural resources.”
