I still remember the very first time my dad took my brother and I fishing. I laid awake most of the night dreaming about hooking into a monster fish. At 4 am, my dad walked into our bedroom surprised to find out that we were awake. We slipped quietly down the stairs out of the house and into the family station wagon. I’ll never forget those empty roads and highways. We stopped at McDonald’s restaurant for breakfast. Just as we were leaving, the sun began to rise painting the morning sky with pinks and yellows. And then, our final destination, Georgian Bay. The excitement of getting into the boat. The smell of a 2 stroke outboard engine. And the hours and hours of casting and trolling. Even though we didn’t catch anything to take home, I will still never forget that trip
